Sloka 7

Chapter -2   Slokas — 7
With my natural traits overcome by (a sense of) helplessness and sin, and my mind perplexed regarding (my) duty, I ask You — tell me that which is definitely good for me I am Your disciple; teach me who have taken refuge in You

Very often we are caught in the horns of dilemma. We do not know what is right, what is wrong; what is good; what is bad; what is to be done; what is not to be done. In short, "to be, or not to be" is our haunting question. Especially, when two paths appear equally to be righteous or dharmic, we find it difficult to choose correctly. We, then, need guidance, guidance from a loving guru, an affectionate teacher.

All the great masters from times immemorial have drawn inspiration from the Gita, the perennial source of wisdom to all humanity irrespective of caste, creed, region, religion and language. Their illustrious lives and noble preachings are but an illustration and echo of the celestial Gita.

Adi Sankara and Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed are masters to lead their disciples of faith and devotion to divine heights. Whatever any master preaches is available in the Gita.

A Devotee: "Sir, is it necessary to have a guru? "
Master; "Yes, many need a guru. But a man must have faith in the guru s word. He succeeds in spiritual life by looking on his guru as God Himself. Therefore the Vaishnavas speak of Guru, Krishna, and Vaishnava.
