Chapter -3 Slokas — 25
As the ignorant perform action being attached to it, even so, O descendant of Bharata (Arjuna), should the wise perform action unattached, desiring the welfare of the world.

A salt doll does not survive a sea bath. Similarly a realised soul cannot remain separate from the luminous self or God. But a rare few try to refrain from their absorption in the infinite to let the people know of the rich treasure, which is the goal of all spiritual sadhana.

Sri Ramanuja was unselfish. He never strove for his moksha. He wanted the fruits of his devotion and sadhana to be made available to all. He invited, therefore, all people and told them the great Truth for the benefit of all. The spiritual wealth that he found was kept at the disposal of all. The great Mantra which he received from his master, he delivered to all, unasked and free of cost, for the well being of all.

Saints and sages climb up the ladder of spirituality from the well of worldliness. At the top, when they find the effulgence of spiritual sublimity, they merge with it. But a rare few like Sri Ramana and Sri Ramakrishna stand there to describe the wealth of spiritual splendour and pave the way for others also to ascend to the highest.

Sri Ramakrishna could have immersed himself in the ocean of spiritual bliss. But he was not selfish. He wanted all of us to enjoy the thrill of Samadhi, experience the ecstatic happiness of spiritual nectar. Here, therefore he calls us. Let's respond to his call and try to follow him to enjoy the fullness of life, here and hereafter.

"Karmayoga is the attaining through unselfish work of that freedom which is the goal of all human nature. Every selfish action, therefore, retards our reaching the goal, and every unselfish action takes us towards the goal; that is why the only definition that can be given of morality is this: That which is selfish is immoral, and that which is unselfish is moral."--- Swami Vivekananda
