God has incarnated many a time to set right the society. But again it gets deteriorated providing thereby a necessity for God to come again. No saviour has saved the society so far permanently and completely. And there is going to be none in future to save it for ever.
It is not the receiver that is blessed, it is the giver that is blessed. Any number of hospitals cannot remove disease from society and any number of educational institutions cannot dispel ignorance from people totally. We only help ourselves while helping others.
A man approached a sadhu for a servant to look after his needs. The sadhu gave him a ghost saying that it is capable of doing any work in a trice. But it must be engaged incessantly. Else, it would swallow the master himself. The man was happy to receive an excellent worker. Any work irrespective of its volume and toughness, the giant-servant was doing in a trice. But unfortunately the boss could not give it enough work. So he thought and finally asked the ghost to straighten a dog's tail. The giant servant began the work. But the work could never be completed. Every time it was straightened, it was curling back. The ghost was thus engaged. This society, like the dog's tail needs to be straightened and set right repeatedly. Any number of social workers and reformers, nay, even God's incarnations will not be sufficient to straighten it. Society is like a dog's tail. It cannot be set right.
But, in the process it was the ghost that got improved and it gradually evolved into an angel. We improve ourselves while trying to improve others.
