The National Youth Day, birthday of Swami Vivekananda according to English Calendar, was celebrated in Vivekananda Auditorium.  It was also 28^th convocation of Vivekananda Institute of Languages.  Sri J. Rambabu, IAS, Chairman, A.P. State Financial Corporation was the Chief Guest of the function and emphasised the need of the message of Swami Vivekananda to the youth of the country.

Swami Srikantananda stressed the importance of National Youth Day and explained how Swami Vivekananda was a role model to the youth of India.  Swami Anupamananda presented the annual report and explained how the Institute not only teaches languages but also imparts character building education as envisioned by Swami Vivekananda.  Swami Jnanadananda in his presidential address told that Swami Vivekananda wanted the youth to imbibe the service attitude which will help the concerned individual and country at large.

Swamis of the Math went to tank bund and garlanded beautifully decorated statue of Swami Vivekananda. Sri Nrupendar Rao and other devotees participated.

Swami Jnanadananda awarded "Dr. K.R. Narayanan and Smt. Kausalya Narayanan Memorial Gold Medal for outstanding Character" to Sneha Chaudary, a student of German language studying in II Diploma level.  There was a symposium where the students of the Institute presented Swami Vivekananda's inspiring message in different languages.  The programme ended with group-songs by the students.  More than 1100 students and invitees attended the programme.  142 students received Diploma certificates in different languages on the occasion.
