The auspicious Gurupurnima, the birthday of Vedavyasa, the Aadi Guru, was celebrated in the Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad on Friday, 18 July. The day-long programme began with Special Puja and Homa in the morning. It was followed by discourse on the importance of Guru, by Swami Jnanadanandaji in Telugu and Swami Srikantanandaji in English.
“Haripada Dhyanamu” an Audio CD containing songs from Sri Ramakrishna Kathamrutamu, sung by Swami Jnanadanandaji Maharaj, was released on the occasion. A picture exhibition on Sri Ramakrishna, produced by Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysore was also arranged.
A Dance programme by the Children of Nritya Kala Nilayam, Anantapur was arranged in the afternoon from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm. The excellent performance by the children included themes on Sri Krishna leela, Gita Sandesham, Sri Ramakrishna Leela Geeti and others. The celebration ended with evening Arati and Bhajans. The devotees thronged to the Math all through the day.
