Holy Mother Birthday on 30 Dec., A Report.

The hundred and fifty fifth birthday of Holy Mother Sri Sharada Devi was celebrated at the Math on Sunday, 30 December 2007.

The programme began in the morning with Mangalarati at 5.30 am.  It was followed by Temple Parikrama.  The Holy Mothers portrait was taken in a Ratham around the temple with singing of Bhajans. A large number of devotees participated in the Parikrama.

The Special Puja began at 7.30. It was accompanied by devotional songs.  It was followed by Homa.  There was discourses on the Life and Message of Holy Mother by Swami Jnanadanandaji and Swami Srikantanandaji.  It was followed by Arati and Prasad distribution.  As part of the celebrations Narayana Seva (feeding the poor) was also organised.

There was Annamacharya Keertan by Shri Gurajada Madhusudana Rao & Party from 4.30 to 6.30 pm.  It was followed by Sandhyarati and Bhajans. 

Two Video CDs of Bhajans sung by Swami Jnanadanandaji were released on the occasion.  Thousands of devotees flocked to the Math all through the day.  The Bhakti TV Channel telecasted live the whole programme.
