Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad conducted a month-long Summer Camp for children from April 27 to May 24, with an aim to inculcate our rich heritage in young minds. More than 1100 children between the age group of 10 to 15 years enrolled as participants.
Inaugurating the camp on April 27, Dr.Vani Mohan, I.A.S., Additional Commissioner, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, appreciated the effort of the Ramakrishna Math in conducting the Camp for children.
Children were taught Prayers, Bhajans, Vedic Chanting, Gita Chanting, Yogasanas, and moral stories from great lives, epics and puranas. Essay, Elocution and Recitation competitions were also held. The Swamis of the Math and many eminent personalities participated as the resources persons.
Participating in the concluding programme as the Chief Guest on 24 May, Sri Sundar Kumar, I.A.S., Commissioner, Endowments Dept. Government of Andhra Pradesh, stressed the need for inculcating the values like, compassion, love, devotion, self-discipline etc. at an early age. He gave away the prizes to the winners of the competitions. The camp ended with a colorful cultural programme by the participating children.
