Summer Camp for children

Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad conducted a month-long Summer Camp for Children.

Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad conducted a month-long Summer Camp for Children between the age group of 8 to 15. Inaugurating the camp on 22-4-07, Sri G.S. Singhvi, Honourable Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court, said that children need to imbibe the culture at early age so that they will develop in to good citizens.  This summer camp is a golden opportunity for these children.

 

Participating as the chief guest in the concluding programme on 19-5-2007, Dr. I.V.Subba Rao, I.A.S., Principal Secretary (Revenue Endowments) Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, stressed the need to instil self confidence, ideal of social service and such noble ideas in the children. He praised the role of Ramakrishna Math in this direction.

 

Children were taught Yogasanas, Prayers, Bhajans, Vedic Chanting, Gita Chanting and moral stories from great lives, epics and Puranas etc. in the month long camp and competitions were held on these subjects. As part of the concluding ceremony there were dramas, songs, dances etc by the participating children.  1056 children participated in the camp.
