The ability in Communication skills is playing a great role in professional achievements of individuals. Speech is a free gift of God. Those who know how to use it, attain great success in life. Swami Vivekananda could conquer the whole world by his power of speech. Knowledge of language is not enough. In addition to a good command over language, we need several other abilities in our day to day life to attain peace and happiness. Regular classes are conducted every month to help the students and young professionals to acquire skills in communication both for personal and professional excellence.

If we look at the history of mankind, there has never been a time when any other form of communication equalled spoken words in terms of their value and importance. In recent times the art of public speaking has become a very important tool in a student’s life and in a professional’s life. A one day training program is organized periodically for students and professionals to enhance the oratorical skills and increase the confidence of the participants. Tremendous results have been garnered through methodical and systematic training.

It is not possible to manage others unless we first learn to manage ourselves. In most of the cases the complexity of one’s own personality disturbs the whole surroundings. Before trying to change others, let us try to change ourselves by learning certain techniques to control the mischievous and trouble shooting mind. This course is offered by the Institute to help people to strengthen their minds and to take hold of their own mind through practical techniques developed by the Indian and Western philosophers.

Yogasanas

Modern Science has certainly made life comfortable but it brought with it many disadvantages. Sedentary style of life is causing health-hazards to many people, particularly to professionals and office goers, who spend most of their time in confinement. `Health is wealth’ is a well known proverb. Sickly person cannot concentrate on anything and that leads to frustration and failure. To help them to acquire the techniques of maintaining good health, the Institute is conducting regular yoga classes separately for men and women under the guidance of expert yoga teachers. It’s a three-week course conducted every month.

Modern youth is groping in darkness without direction whatsoever. There is tremendous energy in the youth but it is not properly channelized. Hence they are facing enormous number of problems both in education and personal life, such as lack of self-confidence, courage, boldness, fearlessness, patriotism etc. Swami Vivekananda’s inspiring message is greatly relevant for our modern youth. He is the ideal for youth. To expose our youth to these wonderful positive ideas, the Institute is regularly conducting special value orientation course for students.

Today we are living in the age of stress and strain. While on one hand we are able to control most of the physical ailments through several systems of medicine, we see an enormous increase of physiological and mental problems on the other hand. When problems are not solved, the diseases are not cured but are shifted from physical to mental level. We feed the body but starve mind and soul and the result is all round degradation on various fronts. To help our citizens to develop a holistic approach towards life by regular practice of meditation, regular course are being offered on guided meditation.

Personality is not just a physical appearance but it is an all-round development of a human being in all aspects of life. Total personality includes physical, mental, emotional, intellectual and spiritual dimensions of an individual. To help our youth and the general public to develop all these vital aspects, the Institute is conducting Personality Development course for nearly three months on every Sunday in the morning and the evening, wherein Yoga asanas and meditation are taught and inspiring talks on relevant subjects are arranged.

Swami Vivekananda said, “All power is within you, you can do anything and everything”. Why we are not able to manifest that power is due to lack of self-confidence. Self-confidence alone can lead us to success in what ever field we work for development. This course was started in order to build confidence in the youth and others through great treasures of development skills we possess. The response for this course is splendid.

Swami Vivekananda said, “Many times I have been in the jaws of death, starving, footsore, and weary; for days and days I had no food, and often could walk no further; I would sink down under a tree, and life would seem to be ebbing away. I could not speak, I could scarcely think, but at last the mind reverted to the idea: "I have no fear nor death; never was I born, never did I die; I never hunger or thirst. I am it! I am it! The whole of nature cannot crush me; it is my servant. Assert thy strength, thou Lord of lords and God of gods! Regain thy lost empire! Arise and walk and stop not!" And I would rise up, reinvigorated; and here I am today, living! Thus, whenever darkness comes, assert the reality and everything adverse must vanish. For after all, it is but a dream. Mountain-high though the difficulties appear, terrible and gloomy though all things seem, they are but Maya. Fear not, and it is banished. Crush it, and it vanishes. Stamp upon it, and it dies. This course aims to help the students to overcome the fear and enhance their confidence in facing the problems in their day to day life.

A nation’s greatness is reflected through its leaders. It is not a master -servant concept, but a co-operative management spirit. Great leaders of the East and West set high standards of Management through leadership abilities. India produced great leaders that won world popularity through their leadership abilities and role model qualities. This Institute is organizing this programme to educate the youth on the special abilities they should acquire in order achieve excellence in their myriad vocations.

Music is the purifier of soul and is the language of Gods. India has a great music tradition with a divine orientation. Great saint composers enriched the spiritual values among people and remained immortal through their services to music and thereby to our great culture. In order to train those who desire learning music in classical or devotional or instrumental areas, the Institute conducts a 3 months training course. Several batches have already come out from the Institute in Devotional Music and Tabla and presented stage programmes.

Swami Vivekananda said, “Anything that makes you weak physically, intellectually, and spiritually, reject as poison”
The word “weak” is all encompassing and embraces anything that creates in you a stressful situation like all negative emotions and feelings including anger, irritation, infuriation, frustration, despondency, depression, demoralization, unhappiness – anything that disturbs your inner tranquility and equanimity, drains you emotionally and intellectually, besides literal physical weakness. Stress is weakness, Stress is Poison! This course is designed to help the students to over come the stress which they are facing in their day to day life.

Fine arts like drawing and painting develop creative skills and aesthetic talents among children. They also improve concentration concepts among them - a very essential quality for students in education - besides making them good artists and painters. This also helps them in improving their mathematical and science drawing abilities when they move on to higher classes. The Institute is organizing a bi-weekly three months course for the children of the age group of 8 to 15 years in drawing and painting.

The home is the first school for a child and the parents are its first Gurus. However this noble ideal lost its identity in the modern society due to influences of Western trends and electronic media like the T.V. The homes have become hubs of hectic activity without proper attention to the disciplined growth of the child. In order to bring home their parental responsibilities and to motivate them on the right methods of bringing up children, the Institute organizes parents motivation programme in summer with experts in the field and interacting with them on the very vital aspects of their responsibilities.

The education that the children are getting at their schools today has become purely academic and information oriented without any scope for value acquisition. As a result student indiscipline has become a big problem in India. To infuse a love for values and appreciation for our great culture, the Institute organizes every year – during Summer and Christmas vacations (15 days each), special training camps for school-going children for 3 hours everyday from 8-30 to 11-30 Bhagavad-Gita besides lectures from eminent teachers.

Dress code: white; Bonafide certificate must be produced at the time of admission for verification of age.

Realizing this truth his birthday is celebrated as National Youth Day by the Government of India. To expose our youth to these wonderful positive ideas, the Institute is regularly conducting special value orientation course for students.

The IX and X classes are crucial in a student’s life. They are formative years to lay foundation for a future youth either to be good or bad. Both personally and academically the student should develop value oriented self disciplines for blossoming into a bright personality. The Institute is regularly organizing special work-shops for the IX and X class students on methods of mastering their subjects like management of time and developing concentration in studies, etc. Many schools of the twin cities regularly sponsor their students as groups to benefit them in both academic and personal areas.

There has been a wide spread criticism that the professional groups like doctors, nurses, lawyers and engineers are tilting more towards unscrupulous earnings ignoring professional ethics. The nobility of service should adorn their professions so that people repose faith in them before they go as clients. This is possible only when these professional groups follow the great ethical values for which India stood for ages. The Institute is periodically organizing special one-day conventions for professional groups like doctors, engineers etc., to instil in them the need for professional ethics through philosophy of service. The conventions for doctors, nurses and bank officials, already organized, have been a grand success. These are arranged independently or on collaboration with the professional Associations like Indian Medical Association or Indian Banks’ Association etc.

Teachers are called the nation builders and torch-bearers. To make them aware about their role and responsibility in moulding the character of thousands of tender minds of students by imparting in them the long-cherished values, the Institute is organizing regular value orientated programmes for teachers. This is aimed at strengthening the formal academic education with transformal values with teachers as catalysts. These programmes are conducted for one, two or three days.

The secret of success is efficiency in work. Many Western countries are able to develop very fast through a right attitude towards work, commitment and patriotism. To train the Government/ Corporate employees as a enlightened citizens and make them realize their responsibilities towards people and country, the Institute is conducting various special programmes. Many such programmes were organized for the employees of Panchayat Raj, Dairy Development Corporation, Midhani, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., and Dr. MCR HRD Institute in the Institute premises. Programmes are arranged for one, two or three days according to the need of organization.

As Gandhiji had rightly said, ‘India lives in villages’. But unfortunately the rural India bears a poor look of abject poverty and widespread illiteracy. To support and supplement the Governments Rural development programmes, the Institute is organizing special value orientation programmes for village groups like Gram Deepikas, village youth etc. In these programmes the participants are trained in value understanding and vocational excellence that help them to know the methods in bringing the best of their talents and help themselves and the nation.

Swami Vivekananda declared, “My faith is in the younger generation, the modern generation, out of which will come my workers”. To become selfless workers with virtues of sacrifice and renunciation as desired by the Swamiji, the youth must be exposed to the working of the Institutions endeavouring in this direction. To fulfil this objective, this Institute organizes a 3-day residential youth camp in the Ramakrishna Math premises itself. They are trained in the methods of developing self-discipline through pre-dawn Devotional Bhajan sessions, Yogasanas, community working methods, exposure to Indian cultural values and harmony of religions etc. The participants of these youth camps have expressed great satisfaction at the spiritual transformation they gained through this residential camp.

The Youth constitutes the vital strength of the nation. But owing to the influence of Western civilization and media many segments of the youth of India are misdirected and are becoming victims of evil forces. Swami Vivekananda offered excellent guidelines for proper channelizations of the youth power through several methods. The Institute organizes regular youth conventions as sponsored programmes of educational institutions in groups or as individuals. More than 50,000 youth have participated so far. The conventions are also organized separately for Boys and Girls.
