Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad – Free Cycle distribution
The Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad, under its Grama Shri (Rural Development) Seva Programme, successfully organized a bicycle distribution drive for government school students in rural areas. This noble initiative aimed to support students who travel from neighbouring villages, thanda's to attend school, thereby promoting access to education and reducing dropout rates.
A total of 192 bicycles were distributed between 16th, 17th, and 18th March 2026 across four government schools selected under the Grama Shri programme. These schools were chosen based on their active participation in regular personality development classes conducted by the Math.
The beneficiary schools include:
Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS), Padmashalipuram, Rajendranagar, Rangareddy District
ZPHS, Nakrekal (near Suryapet), Nalgonda District
ZPHS, Ratnapur Village, Shivampet Mandal, Medak District
ZPHS, Brahmanapally, Narsapur Mandal, Medak District
This impactful project was financially supported by Canara Robeco AMC Ltd , Mumbai, reflecting a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility and rural education.
The distribution programmes were conducted in a grand and inspiring manner.
16th & 17th March: Presided over by Pujya Swami Bodhamayananda Maharaj, The Adhyaksha of Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad. His presence and encouraging words served as a great source of inspiration for the students and villagers alike.
18th March: The concluding day’s ceremony was graced by the Pujya Swami Pujanananda Maharaj, who personally interacted with the young beneficiaries.
Representatives from Canara Robeco, including Shri Raghu and Shri Krishna , were also present. The events witnessed the participation of District Education Officers (DEOs), Mandal Education Officers (MEOs), school headmasters, teaching staff, parents, village elders, and local leaders, making the programme a community-centered success.
This initiative not only provided essential support to students but also reinforced the importance of education, self-development, and community service. The effort by Ramakrishna Math stands as a commendable example of how spiritual organizations and corporate institutions can collaborate to bring meaningful change in rural society..
