Spanish Course & Syllabuses
Spanish course has 6 levels:
First Junior, Second Junior, First Senior, Second Senior, First Diploma, and Second Diploma.
SYLLABUS FOR FIRST JUNIOR
1. Greetings, numbers, the letters of the alphabet, letters and their sounds
2. The days of the week and the months of the year.
3. The gender and number: Masculine / Feminine, Singular / Plural
4. The articles – Indefinite/definite, Personal pronouns
5. Nationalities and Professions, adjectives describing people, workplaces
6. Regular verbs ending with “ar, er, ir”
7. Irregular verbs like llamarse, tener, ser, estar, querer, ir, etc.,
8. Question words, basic prepositions.
9. Uses of “por, para, porque, por qué, hay”
10. Quantifiers : muy, mucho/a/s/as
11. Demonstrative adjectives, tener que + infinitive
12. Colours, clothes, everyday items
13. Qué + noun, cuál / cuáles
At this level, the student can
· introduce himself, describe and define places, people, things, climate, weather, etc.,
· make simple conversations related to shopping, asking and giving personal information.
· express intentions, motivation, leisure activities, existence, and location
· read, write, listen and speak Spanish with little difficulty.

SYLLABUS FOR SECOND JUNIOR
1. Possessive adjectives
2. « Gustar » verb
3. Quantifiers : muy, un poco, bastante, algún, ningún, mucho, etc.
4. Family relations, adjectives related to physical aspects and character.
5. Pronominal verbs / Irregular / stem changing verbs
6. También / tampoco / sí / no
7. Direct object pronouns
8. Uses of “de” and “con”
9. Prepositions and adverbs of place: a, en, al lado de, cerca, lejos, etc.
10. Present perfect
11. Saber / Poder + infinitive
At this level, the student can
· express time, daily activities, habits
· ask for and give information about food/eating habits.
· express and compare likes, dislikes, and interests.
· describe towns, neighborhoods, and cities.
· talk about past experiences, skills, abilities, strengths, weaknesses, etc.

2. Verbs: “costar, sentirse”

5. Simple past, time markers
6. Prepositions: hasta, durante, desde
7. Ir / irse, empezar / empezar a
8. Comparatives, possessive pronouns
9. Prepositions and adverbs of location
10. Regular and irregular forms of gerund
11. Conditional (poder/importer)
12. Usage of the verbs: dar, dejar, prestar, poner, pasar, tener
13. Difference between present perfect and simple past
14. Ya / todavia no
15. Ir a / querer / pensar + infinitive
At this level, the student can
· talk about habits, about difficulties.
· describe feelings, objects.
· make recommendations, excuses, justifications.
· explain and connect past events.
· talk about: action from beginning to end / past experiences / intentions.
· express likes, preferences, coincidence, desire to do something.
· ask for things, actions, favors, permissions.

7. Ya no / todavia
8. Past forms of “estar” + gerund
9. Time markers
10. Difference between preterite and the imperfect
At this level, the student can
· talk about tastes, eating habits, about moods, about habits, customs and circumstances in the past.
· explain how a dish is prepared.
· describe aches, pains and symptoms.
· give advices.
· argue and debate.
· express emotions.
· tell stories from the past.
